Our Purpose

Our purpose is - Repurposing leaders and corporations to discover and implement personal and corporate callings, thereby transforming communities and nations.

Why repurposing? Having a clear purpose can be the greatest driver of innovation, the best way to ensure alignment, the smartest way to cut costs, and a deliberate way to leave a legacy. Many leaders and corporations have either failed to find, or have drifted from, a great purpose. "Repurposing" gets them to an excellent purpose.

Why leaders? Leadership is often the difference between mediocrity and momentous achievement. While grassroots initiatives have merit, The Institute focuses on leaders because of their potential to make a huge difference, and to leverage their influence.

Why corporations? Some see "the corporation" in a negative light, but we recognize that corporations within all spheres of society are an essential element of growth, progress and effectiveness provided that they have a right purpose and serve their constituents. Since many corporations have lost sight of their purpose, our goal is "repurposing leaders and corporations."

Why callings? We believe that corporations can have a calling, as can an individual and a nation. Many corporations know how to make money, but do not know their calling. Discovering and implementing a callings is not only fulfilling today, but leaves a legacy tomorrow.

Why transformation communities and nations? The triple bottom line is a good start, but it is not, in our view, broad enough. Making the world a better place sounds trite, but when there is a deliberate strategy to engage corporations in addressing the societal ills (or giants) in their communities and nations, then transformation goes from rhetoric to reality.

Our tagline is Repurposing Business--Transforming Society® because we generally start with business when engaging leaders and corporations. Business is a key sector of society and can be an agent for positive change. We also work with the other sectors of society, of course, but generally begin with Business.
